  Boyd F. Chandler served from 1943 to 1945 in the CBI Theater, first with the Transportation Corps in India, and then with the Signal Corps in China.

LEAKSVILLE SOLDIER SERVES IN CHINA - Pvt. Boyd Chandler, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Chandler, of Harris Street, Leaksville, is pictured as he stopped his jeep alongside a young Chinese food peddler somewhere in southwest China.  Chandler is serving with the Transportation Corps of Services of Supply at Advance Section No. 1, where he drives anything the Army has on the road.  After serveral months in India he was assigned to the China unit of the Army supply forces where he and his buddies are acting as the supply arm for the fighting Chinese and American troops.  He was inducted in May, 1943, after he left the Boulevard Amusement Company in Leaksville.
