Maps of the China-Burma-India Theater of World War II
These maps and illustrations have been compiled from various sources as a single-point historical reference for private non-commercial use. Map images are presented as obtained from the source, without captions or explanation beyond what is shown on the map.
Quality of the map images varies. Many of the maps are hand drawings. Some maps are subject to copyright.
For best results view in a maximized window. Additional display space can be gained by switching to full screen display. Most browsers can display full screen by pressing the F11 function key. This key turns full screen mode on or off.
Most maps are contained in large image files which may require additional time to load.
Click on the name of the map to view from the list at left. The scrollbar at left can be used to view additional map selections. A preview of the map will be displayed in this area. The image may be slightly distorted in the preview.
Click on the preview map displayed in this area to open it maximized in a new window. These images are displayed normally, without distortion. Many map images are displayed one-and-a-half or two times normal size in the maximized window.
Use scrollbars at bottom and/or right of screen to view larger maps. Keyboard arrow keys may also be used to view larger maps.
Click on the large map to close the window.
Some maps use symbols which are identified in KEY TO ARMY MAP SYMBOLS and ADDITIONAL SYMBOLS.
