At the end of World War II, U.S. Marines, who had fought their way island by island across the Pacific, were tasked withrepatriating Japanese military and civilian personnel from China back to Japan. The mission of the Third Amphibious Corps, deployed to Tientsin, China, lasted from September 1945 until June 1946. The North China Marine newspaper was published to keep them informed and entertained.
